Microsoft sue against Samsung for royalty payments of Androids devices

This will be a great surprise but this is fact that there are many patents regarding Android devices that are owned by Microsoft.  There was dispute over licensing fee in 2011, there was a cross licensing agreement with Samsung that will allow both the parties so that they can share their property at a cost. Now Microsoft made up a lawsuit against Samsung to make it its hold in bargain.

The exact detail of sue is not disclosed yet and it is said to be denial by Samsung. The point on which Microsoft hold is that the wireless division of Samsung has significant growth after the agreement and after much proper due wasn’t paid by Samsung. In the year of 2014 there were 314 million selling done by it up from that agreement rising from 82 million units. Due Samsung is bound to pay huge amount of money to Microsoft.

David Howard, corporate vice President said that Nokia wireless division acquisition and its leverage given to Samsung was to nullify the contract.

The lawsuit has enforcement to that by which Samsung has to pay royalty against each manufactured smartphone. According to Microsoft there are certain features in Android OS used Microsoft technology that is patented. Microsoft has agreement with manufacture that they will pay manufactured device royalty.

At first Samsung paid royalty payments, but Samsung is late in paying annual payments. Samsung was late in paying Microsoft interests. Microsoft is seeking court judge to acquire Samsung that are patented and seek to take its patents.

Samsung is saying claims that after Nokia acquisition Microsoft manufactured or sold manufactured are not included in agreement. Samsung is going to manage patent breach.

According to Microsoft initially it was an agreement by Samsung that they will pay royalty when Samsung was not considered as a marketing element and after that agreement it is now a tech giant in the market. Microsoft has not disclosed the amount that it is going to gain. Microsoft has such agreement with more than 25 companies.  The lawsuit was filed in U.s in New York.
