Apple 8GB iPhone 5c Available in India For Grabs at Rs.37,500

Apple has finally moved to launch the cheapest current-generation iPhone: the 8GB iPhone 5C unveiled in India at a price of Rs.37,500 or $640.80. However, Apple is also offering a Rs. 3,000 as starting discount on the device. Apple iPhone 5C 8GB variant will be available at a best buy of Rs. 34,500 or $589.54 for a limited time period, that is. Further, Apple has also giving along a free iPhone 5c case worth Rs. 2,300 with the device as part of the initial launch scheme.

While he iPhone 5C is heading as of most affordable handset in India, it’s still not so cheap. The 8GB iPhone 5C retailing at Rs.37, 500, around $640.80. That’s after having a wireless contract and a refund of Rs.4, 000, or $68. IPhone 4S which is retailed at Rs.20, 000 or $342. With such a huge difference, even the cheapest iPhone may now be out of grab for many customers in India.

It is worth noting that Apple had earlier launched the iPhone 5C smartphone in India at pricing tag of Rs.41, 900 for the 16GB model. However, the device is available to buy at Rs.34, 400 through various buyback offers. Therefore the 8GB variant at a price tag of Rs.37, 500 is could be a major crowd puller.

Previously launched in March, the 8GB variant was initially unveiled in UK, France, Australia, Germany and China. Apple is not new in the market that is offering previous generation iPhones at lower prices in India; therefore the latest move is plugged as a continuation of its scheme to further cement the brand in the Indian market. Apple CEO Tim Cook had wording during the company’s last earnings call that “IPhone sales grew by strong double-digits year-over-year, and in India and Vietnam sales more than doubled”
For now, the next move of Apple’s iPhone is reportedly coming in August this year. It is suggested that the iPhone 6 will be consist of the design of the the iPod Touch. While the iPhone 6 will be the biggest at that time, in case of size, it will soon after be overhauled by the iPhablet, which is a 13.9-cm equal to 5.5-inch smartphone from the iPhone maker.
