Suatu tahun dalam bulan Ramadan ketika beriktikaf sepuluh hari terakhir puasa di Masjid Nabawi, saya dapati mereka rukuk dan sujud dengan begitu lama di dalam solat tahajjud, lalu saya tertanya apakah yang para jamaah bacakan ketika mereka rukuk dan sujud itu, kerana apa yang saya tahu hanyalah membaca tiga kali tasbih yang tidak dapat mengisi satu perempat dari masa rukuk dan sujud itu.

Dari kitab solat seperti kitab Solat Nabi yang dikarang oleh Al-Albani, dan kitab doa seperti kitab Hisnul Muslim, dan kitab-kitab yang lain, saya dapati banyak lagi bacaan-bacaan di dalam solat selain dari yang saya ketahui. Contohnya untuk doa iftitah, terdapat sebanyak empat belas jenis bacaan, dan di dalam sujud terdapat 10 jenis bacaan, dan di dalam rukuk terdapat 7 jenis bacaan, dan di dalam iktidal terdapat 9 jenis bacaan. Dan selepas selawat sebelum salam, terdapat pelbagai jenis doa yang dianjurkan dan harus dibacakan. Kesemuanya itu tidaklah saya mengetahuinya dan tidak pula saya dapati orang kebanyakan mengerjakannya. Dan saya merasakan alangkah indahnya sekiranya saya juga dapat menghayati bacaan-bacaan itu.

Untuk memudahkan saya merujuk dan menghafal bacaan-bacaan itu, lalu saya telah menyusun bacaan-bacaan itu di dalam satu format yang mudah untuk saya. Dan untuk lebih menghayati bacaan-bacaan itu saya sertakan juga hadis-hadis sahih yang meriwayatkan bacaan-bacaan itu.
