Samsung introduces its new products out every month. Samsung launches a new model a year in each of its main product lines. Samsung does more than that. In 2013 we saw 5 new S4s and no doubt we see the same with the Galaxy S5.

Design:

Its screen is 2% bigger, the processor is 5% faster and the battery is 8% larger than on the Galaxy S4.Its 5.4mm taller, 2.7mm wider and 0.2mm thicker. Samsung used this extra space to bump the display up to a 5.1-inch, 1080p AMOLED, slightly larger than the 4.99-inch display in the S4. The screen size increase didn’t keep pace with the bigger body though. There are a few tradeoffs. The Galaxy S5 is ever so slightly heavier (a half ounce), fatter and larger than its predecessor.

Camera:

One potentially big improvement is the camera, now with 16 megapixels, up from 13 a year ago. It can capture ultra-high definition video and has an incredibly fast shutter — capable of snapping photos in 1/3 of a second.

Fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor:

The Galaxy S5 also has an on-board heart rate sensor and a fingerprint scanner on the home button. The heart rate sensor, located on the back just below the camera lens, measure your pulse continuously.

Water resistant

In keeping with the fitness focus, Samsung also offers water resistance, meaning you can submerge it almost a meter deep for up to 30 minutes. You can splash away by the pool, or sweat on it during a run.
